Dees became one of the biggest names in radio when he took over the top-rated morning show on Los Angeles’ KIIS-FM in 1981. In a short time, he transformed KIIS-FM into the #1 revenue-generating radio station in America, with an asset value nearing half a billion dollars. With unprecedented ratings success, Dees earned numerous accolades, including Billboard’s Radio Personality of the Year for ten consecutive years, the Marconi Award, induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame, and a place in the National Association of Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame. He later launched his nationally syndicated daily radio show, Daily Dees, in partnership with Cumulus Media, and quickly rose to the top five in Los Angeles on Clear Channel’s Hot 92.3 FM. Over the years, he has expanded his career to include television appearances and hosting duties. Rick Dees and his wife, Julie, reside in Los Angeles. Their son, Kevin, is the president of Creative Development for Dees Entertainment, Inc., and a radio/TV host in his own right. An entertainer, outdoorsman, farmer, avid golfer, and passionate pastry chef—Rick Dees continues to leave his mark on the industry and beyond.
